Some Home Improvements

It seems like every spring, Eric and I get Spring Fever/longing for a yard of our own and we go a little crazy planting things in the little space we do have. :) Unfortunately, since we moved, we can't have our totally wicked garden planter box that we made last year, but we do have some space for some pretty nifty potted plants.

This year's selections:

Indoor:

Some pretty house plant that wasn't labeled - anyone know? This is one we really, really like! We think it should grow tall.

Outdoor:

It was a bit tricky choosing the plants for our little outdoor space because it is completely shaded. We knew we wanted a fern and then after that we did some research and found some other nice shade-loving plants.

Samba Fuchsia

Those little beauties will look like this when they open (but more vibrant pink than in this picture.)

And in our large pot, we have a Lady in Red Fern, surrounded by Impatients and Corsican Mint (the mossy looking stuff).

The lady in red fern has red stems and green leaves... interesting - not our first choice in a fern, but it does well in the Utah climate and it was one of the only ones we could come by. Apparently ferns are popular!

And not pictured here: a red gerber daisy at the top of the stairs. Anyone know anything about gerber daisies? It looks healthy, has lots of leaves, and is growing, but it lost its flowers and they won't come back!
