30 Days, 30 Ways: Day 16

Day 16: Challenge - Support upcoming Make A Wish events. Here are two great ways you can support the Make A Wish Foundation (who in turn provide invaluable support for little cancer fighters):

1. Be a part of the 10th Annual World's Largest Ice Cream Social at Cold Stone Creamery.

From MAW's website: During the month of September, Cold Stone Creamery stores throughout the United States, Puerto Rico and Guam will be accepting customer donations in addition to

each location inviting customers to purchase paper icon stars for $1, which will be posted on store walls throughout the month. On the evening of September 27th, guests attending the 10th Annual World’s Largest Ice Cream Social will be treated to a free three-ounce serving of the Sprinkled with Wishes™ Creation™ in exchange for their donation to the Foundation. Many locations will offer activities and entertainment for guests.

We are proud to announce that 100% of all funds raised this year will benefit the Foundation, with no deduction of marketing costs as in year’s past.

Guests participating in this year’s 10th Annual World’s Largest Ice Cream Social will have the pleasure of helping the Foundation grant wishes for children across the country.

I love Cold Stone and Make A Wish. This is pretty much perfect. :)

2. Participate in the women's Wish100 Cycling Event fundraiser that MAW of Utah is holding at the end of October. You can participate in one of two ways: actually riding in the event or contacting the Utah chapter of MAW to see how to volunteer with the event. The Wish100 is held down near St. George - who couldn't use an excuse to get down to that area at the end of October?? :)

Ladies! Trade in those heels for a pair of athletic shoes and join us for Utah’s newest women’s cycling event – Wish100! The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Utah is excited to host this great event in beautiful Southern Utah, October 22, 2011.

Course lengths will be offered at 10, 30, 60, and 100 miles, so whether you’re an experienced cyclist or just a girl looking for a fun joy ride, we have something for YOU!

The course will wind throughout Washington County, amidst the beautiful autumn weather and stunning red rock scenery, beginning and ending at Unity Park in Ivins.

After a day out on the course, you’ll receive the royal treatment at our posh finish line celebration, with delicious food, live entertainment, a vendor fair and of course, some really cool swag!

Gather your girlfriends, or take a fun weekend trip with your families, and join us for the first ever Wish100 ride! All proceeds from this event will grant heartfelt wishes for Utah children with life-threatening medical conditions.
