Wow is Elena growing fast!? Here are some updates:
1. Teeth - so a few weeks ago, we found Elena's first tooth on the bottom left side of her mouth. Then on Saturday, we found that her other bottom front tooth was just starting to break through. Then yesterday, we found that her old bottom tooth is getting close to being all the way in, the new bottom tooth is about a third of the way there, and now her two top front teeth have started to come in as well. Holy teeth! I guess when it rains it pours. That's a whopping four teeth!
2. Sitting up - she's been doing that for several weeks now and is great at it. She loves being able to see things and move around a little more easily.
3. Crawling - Almost! She's so close, she can roll, creep, or wiggle anywhere she wants to go, and even gets up on her knees and moves backwards, but she hasn't quite figured out how to go forward. Just give her another week or two and she'll be unstoppable. (Yikes!)
4. Food - Still nursing (lots) and we've introduced lots of new foods lately: water, rice cereal, multi-grain cereal, bananas, applesauce, cucumbers, carrots, and these things called "biter biscuits" which she LOVES. They're really messy, but how can you object when she's just having so much fun?
and......wait for it...... the best thing of all..................
DUH DA DA DAHHHHH!
5. Sleeping - Miss Elena is now sleeping in her own bed!!!!!!!!!!!! Woohoo! Thanks to a pep talk from Christy and Tom, MUCH help and pep-talking from my mom, and outright mocking from the doctor, Elena has slept in her own bed for 6 nights now. 6 glorious nights. She wakes up once or twice to eat and then goes right back to sleep. Its hard to let her cry - some nights she does and some nights she doesn't. I really hate that part, but everyone says it will pass soon. I hope! But it sure is wonderful to get to take back our bed and to get to sleep next to my husband again! We sleep better, Elena sleeps better and everyone is happy.
Anyways, to sum up, Elena is a cutie and we love her!

hooray for elena sleeping in her own bed! that is awesome. i seriously believe that good sleep for the baby makes baby, mom, and dad much happier.
and hooray for all the other new developments in elena's life. let us know when she starts crawling so she can give lessons to sophie. :) she tries real hard but mostly just gets hurt in the process. those little (okay, big) legs don't want to move!
She sounds adorable! It seems like it's been so long since we've seen her . . . but I realize that's all relative!
You're getting so close to the end of the semester! WAHOO--another big accomplishment!

That is great news. So now everyone is sleeping?
I can't believe how fast the first year of life goes by. It makes me kind of sad, but it is fun, and they get so cute as they grow.
