Dreams

So, I don't know how I got any sleep at all last night because of all the dreams I had. I woke up feeling very rested, but my night was FILLED with dreams. Here is a sampling of the more memorable ones...

1. It was a friday afternoon and all of a sudden, we heard on the news that the depression has started right at that moment - that food prices were soaring and what food was in the stores would be flying off of the shelves. The Church called for everyone to meet at different areas close to where they lived to receive counsel and instruction. Although some of the details don't make sense, it was a very poignant dream for me because in the dream I was very struck that I had ignored some promptings of the Spirit that I had received the week before that said that the depression would begin next friday and that we needed to prepare for it. It was weird because, we were walking to the meeting spot (for church) and lots of people didn't know yet that the depression had started and I was torn between going to meet like the prophet had told us and running to the store to buy food.

2. In this dream, I came home to find Eric lying down on an ironing board, asleep. I woke him up and asked if Shelby (his boss) had given him the day off. Apparently, Eric was really, really tired for some reason and was going to try to get the day off of work. He said, "No, I actually got quite an earful from Shelby - he was pretty mad." I asked for more details and Eric said basically that Shelby told him that Tom (an old coworker) already had the day off and that Eric couldn't have it off. Eric and Shelby started screaming at eachother - Eric about how he was so tired and he was not going to work today and Shelby about how Eric couldn't go and he was going to fire him. Finally, Eric just quit and came home to sleep because he was too tired. In the dream, I was freaking out (because Eric basically had lost his job) and Eric was just like, whatever... I'm tired.

3. This was a disturbing dream and I woke up very grateful that it was just a dream! I can't remember quite how it started off, but it was long and complex. Towards the end though, I remember that I was in this community of weird creatures and was some sort of "chosen one" who had to kill this evil bunny that was terrorizing their community. Anyways, in the final battle scene between me and the evil bunny, I realized that the evil bunny was actually Eric and he was telling me that he knew he was evil and that I had to still destroy him - the evil bunny. I'll just leave it at that... it was really freaky... towards the end of the dream, I was really sad. I woke up so relieved that it wasn't real and really feeling the value of life and how precious it is. I don't understand how anyone can take someone else's life.

4. I have this dream a lot: I was in a math class (some background info for those that don't know this - I HATE, HATE, DOUBLE HATE, LOATHE ENTIRELY... MATH. And I'm terrible at it - really, really terrible. I think I would rather do anything else than math.) and hadn't done any homework for a long time for the class because I didn't understand any of it. We had to turn some homework in and I was just sitting there scared because I hadn't done my work and hating math.

5. In this dream, I was pregnant with our third child. Our second child was some cross between Atticus and some other baby. The strange thing was that we didn't name our first boy (the second child) Talmage, which is what we are naming our first boy. But, we were naming this third baby, which was a boy, Talmage. Anyways, I was days away from my due date, but wasn't hardly showing at all. We were headed to the hospital for me to have the baby and I could feel the baby, but was really worried about how I was going to be able to deliver.

Weird, weird, weird. Obviously, my brain didn't sleep last night. We'll see how today goes! :)

As a professional psychologist I would advise you to quickly get Eric home, put Elena down for a nap, and eat ice cream of the chocolate kind while watching a Jane Austen.
