and grape tomatoes (heaven. HEAVEN. there's nothing more to say about those.).
And then there's the fruit trees - several different varieties of apples (jonathon, gala, etc.),
A sampling of a few things we brought in the other day.

Mmmm... those apples were so good.

One of the things that I love about this time of year is the harvest. There's just something about walking out into the garden, feeling soft dirt between your toes, and seeing ripening fruit on full plants. It amazes me every time.

It has been so awesome walking into the garden several times a week and picking the fruits and vegetables for our meals. It's a nice change to plan our dinners off of what we got from the garden that needs to be used rather than planning my shopping trips around what I have picked for dinner that week. Often last summer, Eric and I would go up to the garden when it got to be dinner time and pick corn, squash, zucchinis, and tomatoes and just gorge on those for dinner. This year we have a more picky toddler who has to eat an acceptable amount everyday or else the hospital sicks the dietitian on us :), so we haven't had quite that much freedom, but it's still been wonderful! We are so grateful for our generous landlords and all they do to make our house such a great place to live.
They changed the garden up a little this year. Here's the inventory: several different varieties of tomatoes, grapes, black beans, watermelons, pumpkins, cucumbers, corn,
bell peppers (and oh, baby do these plants produce! it's crazy!),
and grape tomatoes (heaven. HEAVEN. there's nothing more to say about those.).

the fruit and/veggies look super yummy. i am jealous. you guys do have great landlords. our garden is weak sauce. so far we've only gotten a few little tomatoes out of it. keepin my fingers crossed!
Holy cow! That is amazing! Fresh fruit and vegetables sound sooooooo good right now.
Wow! That's awesome! I can't wait until one day when I can have my own garden.
I am SO JEALOUS! It all looks absolutely delicious! There is nothing to compare with just-picked fruits and veggies from the garden. MMMMMMM
my mouth is watering right now! yum yum yummmm!!! Those are some awesome landlords!
I didn't realize you could grow that much stuff here in Utah. My dad loves his garden in Idaho, I wish he could see all that he is missing out on here in Utah. but your blog is private :(
kenny: give me his e-mail address and i'll send him an invite. i'm liberal with my invites. i don't really care who reads it as long as they at least know a friend of a friend of a friend's sister or something. :) i just want to keep track of who is, so that i know no creepies are. :)
oh yum!
Looks amazing! WOW.. you don't need to worry about germs on the grocery carts.. you've go a produce section right there! -Hope all is well!
Oh you guys! How I envy you!! The garden is fantabulous!!! I LOVE grape tomatoes, they are the bestest! Those grapes look awesome...well, I COULD just go thru & name everything, but since I love it all & it all looks just scrumptious...:) As far as your landlord, they sound wonderful!
Mom just filled me in on Lily, and I knew what was coming up with Elena...our prayers are with all of you...always, but even more during this time. We love you all so very much! <3
Lucky! I'm so bummed, our garden was not very fruitful this year - very short growing season.
