Maybe the timing of the CureSearch Walk wasn't right for you to give and now is a better time. If you have a few dollars to give and feel so inclined, these last few days of September are the PERFECT time to donate to CureSearch! You can go here to donate.
p.s. How about a bonus fact for today? :) Did you know that childhood cancer patients need you to get a flu shot every year? It is vital to immuno-compromised people that you do - the common cold and flu can be life-threatening to them. The "dead" flu vaccine (the shot - NOT the mist) is safe for - and even recommended for- pregnant women, young children, the elderly, immuno-compromised, or perfectly healthy people. Please get your flu shot to help keep Elena and all the other cancer fighters safe!
p.p.s. And since National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is almost over, we'll do two bonus facts today! :) Did you know that if you are going to be around those who are immuno-compromised (like Elena and other people with cancer) they need to know if someone in your family has gotten a "live" vaccine, like rotavirus (commonly given to babies at 2, 4, 6, months), MMR (given at 1 year), Chickenpox vaccine (also given at 1 year), etc.
If you are going to be around us and have a child who has gotten a live vaccine, please let us know! It is absolutely crucial that we keep Elena away for about a week and a half.
